The classic 10FastFingers test is 60 seconds of the 200 most common words. It is a good quick check, but common words in lowercase are easier than real writing, so the number can look better than your everyday speed.
TypeMaster gives you longer, real text: full book chapters with normal punctuation, for free.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my 10FastFingers score higher than my real typing speed?
The standard test uses the 200 most common words of a language for 60 seconds. Real text has rarer words, capitals and punctuation, so speed on it is usually lower.
Does TypeMaster have a speed test?
Yes. It shows WPM and accuracy, and every story chapter works as a longer test on real text.
Is TypeMaster free?
Yes. No ads, no account and no paid tier.
